Leading practitioners and scholars from NYC, Rio, Beijing and Mumbai will explore and share experiences in using data analytics to better manage city resources, and design models for developing public private partnerships. Case studies include the “Big Data” groups in NYC and Rio, and the PPP model in city development.
Experts from USA, Brazil, China and India will share experiences with technology and innovation in areas such as primary care and telemedicine. What common challenges are faced, and what models can be adapted and applied in other parts of the world?
Scholars from SIPA and Columbia’s Teacher College will debate education reform projects with educators from Brazil, China and India. Case studies being reviewed include Brazil’s “Schools of Tomorrow” program, India’s nascent charter school movement, and the creation of science parks on the PPP model in NY, Rio and Beijing.
The “Innovation and Technology in the Public Service” summit brings leading professors and practitioners from around the world to Columbia University for a chance to highlight and discuss best practices in the use of big data, public-private partnerships, and sustainability in public management.
